Well, my best day on WordPress yesterday was capped by Ottabelle passing me the Kreativ Blogger award. So first, a hearty thank you for the honor, Ottabelle! If you haven’t visited her blog yet, you should do so.

As I’ve mentioned to some bloggers, these awards can be viewed negatively (oh, a chain letter) or positively. I prefer the positive. They’re one way we can bring people’s attention to blogs they might not yet have seen. In that spirit, I’m not going to pass it on to someone who’s already received it. (at least not knowingly or as of when I prepared this post!)
There are many other deserving bloggers, too, but I’ll stick with the rules. Definitely check out these blogs if you haven’t already!
First, the rules:
1. Share 10 things people don’t know about you.
2. Pass the award onto 6 other bloggers.
The hardest part is sharing things about myself when I don’t think I’m all that interesting! But here goes.
10 Things You (Probably) Don’t Know About Me
- Some of my father’s ancestors arrived in what became the US in the 1600s.
- My mother arrived in the US as a child.
- I got an A in Matrix Algebra in college. Calculus was another story.
- I started out as a Computer Science major in college. That did not last.
- I took horseback riding lessons in junior high school.
- One of my characters is a good swimmer. I am not.
- I love the idea of dressing up for a night on the town. The practice rarely follows.
- I worry way too much about everything.
- I’ve never seen a ghost (heard one, but didn’t see it!)
- I can’t listen to music while writing.
The 6 Kreativ Blogger Recipients (in no particular order!)
- Write Am I
- Winsomebella [absolutely beautiful photographs and the words to complement them]
- Kourtney Heintz’s Journal
- Robin Hawke
- The Write Transition
- Emmie Mears

/ January 10, 2012Ahh, shucks, I’m blushing over here. Thanks so much for thinking of me and giving the kudos to my new blog. I really do appreciate it. And, as my Type A personality will allow for nothing less, I will get on it right away

/ January 10, 2012Like Leila above, you deserve it! My site stats show me some people are clicking on the links to the awardees. I’ve got to believe the “Kentucky Jelly” post they see right off is going to generate some smiles!

/ January 12, 2012Thank you! I wish I could listen while I write. But I end up getting into the music. At other times it can provide inspiration, though.

/ January 15, 2012Congratulations on the award, very much deserved! Re. #3 couldn’t agree with you more on the calculus thing… Re. #9 would love to hear that story one day.
jmmcdowell
/ January 15, 2012Thanks! Maybe I can turn #9 into a very short story for a Halloween post…. I should probably start writing it now because short stories are really hard for me!
Robin Hawke
/ January 20, 2012I finally picked this up…thank you!
I can’t listen to music either…the rhythms distract me from the ones in my head,
